The
Pilot Study

In 2020, we invited 12 parents of children aged 2 to 5 years old to get involved in a pilot study using the Headspace app. This involved them using the app to meditate for up to 10 minutes a day for one month.

We asked these parents questions about their stress, their relationship with their child and their child's behaviour, as well as questions about their experience of taking part.

The feedback we got from these parents about our study helped us to plan a pilot RCT, which we hope to be able to share the results of soon.

If you were a parent who participated in this study, we are preparing to send you a summary of our results very soon. If you have any  questions in the mean time, please do get in touch.

The RCT

We're now finished recruiting for our pilot RCT. An RCT is a Randomised Controlled Trial. It's a type of study that is often used in healthcare research to help us understand if it is the intervention we are giving participants which is ultimately causing changes in what we are measuring.

As a participant, this meant that if you chose to take part, you were randomly allocated to either receive the app straight away, or were asked to wait a short time while we ask you some questions.

We asked our participants questions about their stress, their relationship with their child and their child's behaviour.

We've finished recruiting for this study, and are ready to have a look at the results. If you're interested in finding out more about this, you can email me using the contact details on the right hand side of this page, or use the contact form on this website.
